Fans Choose Harrison County Fair Theme
The votes are in, they have been tallied and the Harrison County Fair now has a theme.
“Boots, Chaps and Cowboy Hats: Harrison County 175 Years Strong” created by Janet Lambert was voted the theme of the 2016 Harrison County Fair. Almost 3,000 residents cast their vote through the fair’s Facebook page contest sponsored by Papa John’s. “Boots, Chaps and Cowboy Hats” came out on top, but not by much. This theme beat second place finisher “The 2016 Harrison County Fair: Music, Memories and Magnolias” by only five votes.
“I’m country and I have horses and it just came to me. I was thinking about my farrier for the chaps and boots and cowboy hats are Harrison County. Very excited, I’ve lived here all my life and we’ve never had a fair. We’ve had small ones all over the county, but never an official county fair,” said Lambert.
Next up is a poster artwork contest with a $500 grand prize and VIP fair package. For more information, visit the fair’s Facebook page.
