Saints Report: Saints fall to Falcons 24-10
NEW ORLEANS, La. (WXXV Sports)-Fresh off their bye week, the Saints returned to the Caesars Superdome on Sunday for a big rivalry match up against the Atlanta Falcons.
The Black and Gold got out to an uneven start in this one, allowing a Falcons field goal early. Defense for the Saints looked pretty stout at times throughout the afternoon, but offensive and special teams’ miscues proved costly for the team.
Kicker Blake Grupe missed two first half field goals, and the Saints had multiple missed opportunities in the redzone throughout the game.
An early injury to running back Alvin Kamara also limited what the Saints could do on the ground, leading to quarterback Tyler Shough throwing 43 passes for 243 yards and an interception.
Shough was also sacked five times in the game.
The two high points for the Saints were a Justin Reid pick with the help of Kool-Aid McKinstry deflection and a 33-yard field goal by Grupe.
The Saints fall 24-10 to the Falcons.
The 2-9 Saints travel to Miami next weekend to take on the 4-4 Dolphins with a noon kickoff next Sunday.
