Business community gathers at 2025 Pre-Legislative Briefing
BILOXI, Miss. (WXXV)-Early Tuesday morning, the Coast’s business community gathered in Biloxi to hear from local lawmakers and get a first-hand look at what’s ahead in the 2025 legislative session.
The event was hosted by the Mississippi Gulf Coast Chamber of Commerce.
The briefing gave attendees an overview of the key issues lawmakers plans to tackle next session. Their priorities include streamlining regulations for restaurants and grocery businesses, strengthening public schools, supporting first responders, and advancing coastal restoration and civics education.
Lawmakers also discussed efforts to making voting easier, expand workforce development, and support the Coast’s seafood industry through improved labeling laws.
They emphasized both promoting good policy including inadequate bills before they move forward.
The briefing provided the business community with insight into what could impact local industries in 2025 and offered a chance to connect and plan for the year ahead.
