Picayune PD mourning the loss of Detective James Burch

PICAYUNE, Miss. (WXXV)- The Picayune Police Department is mourning the loss of one of their own.

Detective James Burch died Friday prior to a medical procedure.

Burch served in the city’s special operations division with prior stops at the Stone County Sheriff’s Office, Mississippi Department of Corrections, and Bay St. Louis Police Department.

Burch was a 20-year veteran of law enforcement.
