Moss Point mayor reacts to recent review of police department

MOSS POINT, Miss. (WXXV)- Moss Point Mayor Billy Knight is responding after the release of the Mississippi Department of Public Safety’s Comprehensive Review for Moss Point’s police department.

You may recall that report specifically recommends a 90-day stabilization plan for the department, which focuses on filling vacant positions, and establishing better communication by department leaders and city hall. To read the full report, click here. 

Mayor Knight tells us he asked for the review and welcomes its findings and hopes it will help get the department back on track.

As for the search for a new police chief, Mayor Knight says the interview process is still ongoing and that the city hopes to make a hire soon.
