Stone County Sheriff’s Department hosts Community Training event

STONE COUNTY, Miss. (WXXV)- The Stone County Sheriff’s Department hosted a community training event where the public could learn to identify and avoid online scams.

Deputies have been recently taking information on a scam alert regarding asphalt and offering to complete driveways for a low price. Then upon completion, the price then changes to a higher amount.

The free informational session strengthens the partnership between law enforcement and the public, improves safety awareness and provided useful skills.

Other topics included bullying, community engagement, and door prizes were also available.
