Stone County Sheriff’s Department warning residents of asphalt scam

STONE COUNTY, Miss. (WXXV)- The Stone County Sheriff’s Department is warning residents about an asphalt scam.

Deputies are taking information about an asphalt company that knocks on doors, saying they have left over asphalt and offering to complete driveways for a low price.

When work is done, the price changes to a higher amount.

Deputies advise anyone to call if something seems suspicious and to conduct research before agreeing to a deal.
