Rep. Mike Ezell comments on government reopening
Representative Mike Ezell released a statement following the government’s reopening.
Ezell says the shutdown came at a steep cost for Mississippi.
The state economy lost an estimated $82 million each week, nearly 26,000 federal workers went without pay and more than 357,000 residents faced disruptions to SNAP benefits.
He says now that the shutdown is over, it is time to return to regular order. This includes finishing appropriation bills and restoring stability to families.
