CASA of South Mississippi hosts “Grateful for You” dinner to honor volunteers

BILOXI, Miss. (WXXV) — CASA of South Mississippi hosted a “Grateful for You” dinner at the Golden Nugget on Tuesday evening.

The organization, which advocates for children in the foster care system, welcomed more than 100 volunteers, youth court judges and community leaders for a night of fellowship. Attendees enjoyed a dinner, volunteer awards and a keynote address from Daniel Harris.

Harris is a former foster care youth who benefitted greatly from the mentorship of his CASA advocate. He now pays it forward by advocating for older children in the foster care system.

CASA of South Mississippi will begin training for potential new volunteers in January.
