LGBTQ Pride Celebration

Saturday was a day of celebration as members of the community in Biloxi came together at Point Cadet Plaza for LGBTQ Pride Day.
This event marks the first event of its kind in Biloxi and those gathering came together for a weekend full of events. President of the Gulf Coast Equality Fair John Perkins hopes this celebration is only the start. “We are hoping that today will make it grow. Every year we are going to have one and it will be a bigger event every year. I am very proud that we are finally having one here. Being Mississippi you don’t expect to have one here so I am really excited about it and we are really happy to be here.”
The weekend included speakers and entertainment as well as a candlelight vigil in honor of members of the LGBTQ community who have lost their lives.
