Singing River Hospice of Light holds remembrance ceremony

GULFPORT, Miss. (WXXV)- In observance of National Hospice Month in November, Singing River Hospice of Light hosted a remembrance ceremony at Singing River Gulfport Hospital to honor loved ones lost over the past year.

Hospice of Light invited families, friends, and community members to participate in a special remembrance ceremony by planting live trees.

All were welcome to honor their loved ones, regardless of when the loss occurred or whether their loved one as a Hospice of Light patient.

Families were also encouraged to bring a framed picture  and to participate by embedding their loved ones’ names into the soil, symbolizing a lasting connection with the tree that was planted.

Tuesday, November 18 there will be another planting ceremony in Pascagoula.
