10/24 – Cloudy and Warm Saturday, Rainy Sunday on Tap
Meteorologist Sam Lucey has a look at your extended forecast
Clouds will build in tonight with lows dropping back only into the mid 60s, which is quite a bit warmer than the last few nights across South Mississippi. Saturday stays mostly dry, although a few showers could pop up late in the day around the same time that winds pick up from the southeast around 10-15 mph with higher gusts around 20 mph.
Rain chances increase Saturday night and peak during the day on Sunday, when widespread showers and a few thunderstorms are much more likely. Things start to clear out Sunday night, and by Monday we’ll have a weak cold front pass, which will bring back mostly sunny skies and temperatures near 80 degrees. By Tuesday into Wednesday we’ll see another cold front move through, but this one will be a bit drier and also a little more potent.
Highs will drop a few degrees into the 70s, then drop a few more degrees into the upper 60s by midweek with crisp, clear nights in the 40s and 50s as we approach Halloween next Friday.
