Celebrating the life of Roland Weeks Jr.

The celebration of life for Roland Weeks Jr., a former Sun Herald publisher and long-time civic servant on the Coast, took place Tuesday morning in Biloxi.

Family, friends, and city leaders came out to the Bradford O’Keefe Funeral Home to pay their respects to Mr. Weeks after his October 4 passing.

Weeks is remembered as an innovative thinker who transformed the Sun Herald and helped form the Mississippi Gulf Coast Chamber of Commerce in 1988.

He retired in 2001, but continued in community and civic service in the arts, community development, charity, historic preservation, and developing new generations of leaders.

Weeks’ wish is to have his ashes scattered on the Mississippi Coast, which he loved dearly.
