MSU Meridian Division awarded $1.2 million MDE grant

Mississippi State University’s Meridian Division received a generous grant from the Mississippi State Department of Education.

MDE gave the university a $1.2 million grant to help strengthen and expand Mississippi’s teacher pipeline.

MSU is among nine institutions to receive a grant, the program will cover tuition and expenses for up to 236 individuals seeking licensure in elementary and special education.

These grants are provided to university’s educator preparation programs to enroll candidates.

MSU’s Meridian Division will provide program training alongside a mentor teacher, licensure testing support, and professional development while partnering with public school districts in critical shortage areas.
