18-year-old arrested on multiple charges in Harrison County

HARRISON COUNTY, Miss. (WXXV)- An 18-year-old Gulfport man has been arrested on multiple charges by the Harrison County Sheriff’s Office.
18-year-old Jamaro McNair was arrested on two felony counts of motor vehicle taking, one felony count of burglary of a vehicle, one felony count of directing or causing a youth to commit a felony, one felony count of failure to stop motor vehicle when officer signals, and one felony count of possession of a stolen firearm.
According to Sheriff Matt Haley, deputies responded to the report of a stolen vehicle from a home on Roundhill Drive in Gulfport.
Through the course of the investigation, it was learned that McNair arrived in the neighborhood in a stolen vehicle from Three Rivers Landing.
McNair had a juvenile with him when he burglarized a vehicle before stealing another vehicle from the same neighborhood.
Deputies tried to stop the stolen vehicle on I-10, but McNair failed to stop. The vehicle stopped on County Farm Road when the battery died.
McNair was found to have a stolen gun on him when he was taken into custody.
The juvenile was charged with burglary of a vehicle and motor vehicle taking. They were transported to juvenile detention.
McNair was booked into the Harrison County Adult Detention Facility and is being held in lieu of a $210,000 bond.
