9/18 – Warm and Dry Conditions Persist Into the Weekend

Meteorologist Sam Lucey has a look at your forecast

Clear skies are expected tonight with lows settling in the upper 60s and winds becoming calm. Friday brings plenty of sunshine and a high around 91, followed by another clear and comfortable night.

The weekend continues the warm and dry trend, with highs in the low 90s and overnight lows holding near 70. By Monday, highs ease back into the upper 80s, and rain chances return Tuesday and Wednesday with scattered showers and thunderstorms possible.

With all this dry weather recently, we are nearly 3 to 4 inches below average for rainfall amounts over the last month. This has aided in dry and moderate drought conditions developing across much of South Mississippi.
