Ocean Springs Board of Aldermen lift order limiting alcohol sales
OCEAN SPRINGS, Miss. (WXXV)- The City of Ocean Springs has lifted the order on alcohol sales.
Over Labor Day Weekend, the temporary order had banned alcohol sales after 1:30 a.m. and businesses selling liquors had to close at a hard 2 a.m.
At a board of aldermen meeting, community members filled the room in anticipation of the decision.
Since the order was specified for Labor Day Weekend, the board met to decide if the ban should be extended.
The order was implemented in response to recent gun violence in the city’s entertainment district.
Now businesses that sell liquor in Ocean Springs can return to normal operations.
