Picayune K9 officers obtain utility team certification

PICAYUNE, Miss. (WXXV)- In Picayune, Corporal Shayne Cunningham and K9 Penny have both earned the utility team certification in temperament and tracking.

This was obtained through the National Narcotic Detector Dog Association.

K9 Penny was donated to Picayune Police by the East Coast Canine and Edgecombe County Sheriff’s Office in North Carolina about a year ago.

Penny is the second active K9 to be certified through the program.

Picayune police even giving a hint that there may be a third K9 in about three weeks.
