Pearl River Central kicks last-second field goal to secure 17-14 win over Harrison Central in Week 0 scrimmage
GULFPORT, Miss. (WXXV) — Harrison Central and Pearl River Central battled in a Week 0 football scrimmage on Friday, with the visiting Blue Devils coming away with the 17-14 win in the final moments of the game.
Linebacker Anthony Carpenter scooped up a fumble by the Red Rebels with less than one minute remaining in the game and took it nearly all the way, and the Blue Devils knocked in the winning field goal with 2.4 seconds left.
Up next, Harrison Central will kick off its regular season as it travels to face Lanier High School in Jackson on Friday. Also on Friday, Pearl River Central will welcome the Bay High Tigers to town as both teams look to start the year with a winning record.
