Mississippi Gulf Coast Marathon announces big changes ahead of December 2025 event

GULFPORT, Miss. (WXXV) — Changes are coming to the Mississippi Gulf Coast Marathon ahead of the 2025 event, which runs from December 13th-14th.

Mississippi Gulf Coast Marathon Marketing Director Mike Wattigny told WXXV that Athlete Village and Packet Pickup are being moved to Centennial Plaza in Gulfport. As a result, the Margaritaville 5K is being rebranded as the Hippie Fish 5K. Additionally, the 5K and Kid’s Marathon will now take place in Gulfport as well.

Wattigny met with WXXV’s Elizabeth Keen to discuss these changes and what they mean to South Mississippi as a whole.
