MDOT crews continuing work on Highway 57 in Jackson County
VANCLEAVE, Miss. (WXXV)- Crews have been working on Highway 57 in Jackson County as part of the project to widen nine miles from I-10 to Vancleave.
Crews are creating a new four-lane alignment.
Work done so far includes earthwork and drainage installations south of Gautier-Vancleave Road Interchange.
The southbound lanes are being paved with traffic shifting onto those new lanes soon. This will be done so northbound lanes can be paved.
Officials with MDOT say the project is on track to finish in 2027.
