All clear given after George County Middle School placed in lockdown

GEORGE COUNTY, Miss. (WXXV)-The George County School District shared the middle school campus entered shelter-in-place this afternoon due to a call in the area.
Officials say it was a high priority call in the local neighborhood.
There was never a direct threat to the middle school and staff acted in coordination with local law enforcement to ensure safety.
School administrators say the children and staff’s safety is the top priority and the school will continue to work with law enforcement to monitor and respond to any situation.
