Roy Anderson Corp celebrates 70 years of business
GULFPORT, Miss. (WXXV) — Roy Anderson Corp celebrated 70 years of business with an event at the Mississippi Aquarium for employees and their families on Friday night.
Smiling faces packed the aquarium, where they enjoyed refreshments, received gift bags and had access to all of the animal exhibits.
The general contractor is responsible for the construction of many large-scale buildings across South Mississippi and the region as a whole, including schools, hospitals and casinos.
Leslie Melton, who has worked with Roy Anderson Corp for 19 years and is a current Risk Administrator, spoke on the company’s impacts on the Coast throughout its storied history.
“Well, I think that we’re there in the times whenever we’re needed,” Melton explained. “That we’re there to help rebuild and make the Coast beautiful and hopefully have lots of people come and visit us.”
Roy Anderson Corp was the aquarium’s contractor when it was developed, making the 70th anniversary celebration even more meaningful.
