Water safety tips for the Fourth of July

If your Fourth of July plans include going to the pool or the beach, be sure to keep a close eye on your children because drowning is one of the leading causes of accidental deaths in the U.S.

Don’t leave kids unsupervised even for just a few minutes. Instead, assign a water watcher that is not using their cell phone and not drinking alcohol to keep an eye on all swimming children.

Be sure kids who can’t swim are wearing a life jacket and ideally parents and caregivers should have CPR training.
