Hegseth says all three Iranian nuclear sites ‘obliterated’ by US strikes
Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth has dismissed claims that U.S. strikes on Iranian nuclear facilities failed to destroy their targets.
Speaking to reporters at the Pentagon ahead of a meeting with Israeli Defense Minister Israel Katz, Hegseth said the three nuclear sites were “obliterated” by the strikes.
“The more we report and the more we see, the more we understand how devastating those attacks were on all three of those nuclear sites,” Hegseth said.
A preliminary U.S. intelligence assessment said Iran’s nuclear program was set back only a few months after American strikes on three sites in June. But Trump and other top national security officials have disputed that conclusion, with Trump saying the sites were “completely and fully obliterated.”
