Gov. Reeves Appoints Southern Miss’s Baskin to State Nursing Board
Governor Tate Reeves has appointed Dr. LaWanda Baskin to serve on the Mississippi Board of Nursing, pending confirmation by the state Senate.
Dr. Baskin is the executive associate dean for academic affairs in the College of Nursing and Health Professions at the University of Southern Mississippi.
Dr. Baskin was sworn in at a board meeting in Ridgeland, Mississippi. Her appointment is effective immediately and will continue until June 30, 2027, completing the remainder of the four-year term.
