D’Iberville’s Logan Forsythe drafted by the Atlanta Braves!

Dreams really do come true, and we got to witness it first hand as one local athlete received the phone call of his life! The MLB Draft was held earlier this week, and with the overall 379th pick, D’Iberville’s own Logan Forsythe was selected by the Atlanta Braves.

In high school, Forsythe set the strikeout record with 101 strikeouts, leading the Warriors in back-to-back District Championships. The flame thrower signed to Mississippi State out of high school before finding his home at Louisiana Tech.

“I committed early, and then whenever I got there, it was my dream school. Stuff didn’t work out, I didn’t get out there as much as I wanted to showcase what I could do because my goal was to play at the next level so I figured I could hit the portal and go to Louisiana Tech and show what I can do,” said Logan Forsythe. “We were all in the living room watching and seeing your name next to the Braves logo whenever they pick you is a pretty cool feeling. My mom was probably the most excited in the living room seeing all of that just because they sacrificed so much. My brother sacrificed so much. Just to see all the dreams come true, it’s pretty cool. Yeah I’m ready to get to work, I mean it’s exciting to get started, I mean I leave Sunday, so it all starts pretty soon.”

Congratulations Logan, and we look forward to seeing you suit-up in Georgia soon
