Woman dead after jumping from vehicle, man charged with DUI in Jackson County

JACKSON COUNTY, Miss. (WXXV)-The Jackson County Sheriff’s Department is investigating a DUI that left a woman dead after jumping out of a car.

Deputies say the incident happened Thursday night around 7:30 on Gautier-Vancleave Road in Gautier.

Celeste Bellard was found in the road with deputies trying to help her, she was pronounced dead at the scene.

Sheriff John Ledbetter says Adam Cross told deputies that he and Bellard were heading home after drinking. They got into an argument and Bellard jumped out of the car.

Cross is charged with DUI.

The Jackson County Sheriff’s Department is investigating this incident.
