Singing River Health System hospitals recognized for heart attack treatment

Mississippi Gulf Coast (WXXV)- Singing River Health System has been recognized among the top performing hospitals for heart attack treatment.

Those hospitals taking home the honor include Ocean Springs, Pascagoula and Singing River Gulfport.

Singing River is also one of the only 323 hospitals nationwide, also the only health system on the Mississippi Gulf Coast, to receive the platinum recognition.

All three hospitals demonstrated sustained achievement in the chest pain registry over two consecutive years and consistently performed at the highest levels on specific performance measures.

Those include timely intervention, appropriate medication use, cardiac rehabilitation referrals and smoking cessation counseling.
