Weekend pursuit leads to Georgia man’s arrest in Pearl River County

PEARL RIVER COUNTY, Miss. (WXXV)- A stolen vehicle leads to the arrest of a Georgia man over the weekend.

The Pearl River County Sheriff’s Office said their department helped Mississippi Highway Patrol in pursuit of a stolen Polaris slingshot.

The chase started in Hancock County.

Deputies laid down a spike strip, causing the slingshot to lose control and crash. The driver tried to escape on foot, but was caught by officers and taken into custody.

The suspect was discovered to have active warrants out of Georgia with full extradition.
