Alan Moran revoked, sentenced to 12 years after new felony and indictment for bribery
Bay St. Louis, MS – District Attorney W. Crosby Parker announced today that 37-year-old Alan Moran, of Diamondhead, has had his felony post-release supervision revoked in connection with a 2024 conviction for Child Exploitation.
The revocation was triggered by new felony charges of Bribery and Conspiracy, related to a misdemeanor Stalking conviction Moran received earlier this year.
Circuit Court Judge Christopher Schmidt sentenced Moran to 15 years, with 12 years to serve in the custody of the Mississippi Department of Corrections, followed by 3 years of post-release supervision.
Because the sentence stems from a Child Exploitation conviction, it must be served day-for-day, without eligibility for parole or probation. Moran will receive credit for any time previously served.
At the revocation hearing, Moran’s defense team unsuccessfully moved to delay the proceedings.
Following the court’s denial of that motion, Assistant District Attorneys Chris Daniel and Jasmine Magee, representing the State of Mississippi, submitted into evidence the Indictment issued by a Hancock County Grand Jury earlier this year.
The court determined there was probable cause to believe Moran committed new felony offenses while under supervision, constituting a violation of the terms of his release. As a result, the court revoked his previously suspended sentence.
Prior to recommending the maximum sentence of 15 years to serve day-for-day without parole, ADA Daniel stated, “Often, when a probationer reoffends by committing a new felony offense, they receive the balance of their suspended time on the convicted charge, unless there are substantial mitigating circumstances that warrant leniency from the Court. If there was ever a reason to give someone the maximum time on a revocation, it would either be for reoffending with the same conduct or intentional interference with the process that is designed to hold him accountable in the first place.”
Alan Moran is scheduled to be arraigned on the Bribery and Conspiracy charges on August 5, 2025, at the Hancock County Courthouse.
