For the first time since 2019, the Biloxi Shuckers clinch the First Half title in the South Division!

The magic number is one for the Biloxi Shuckers because all they need to do is win one game in order to win the first half title in the South Division.

Wasting no time in the Shuckers uniform is right-handed pitcher Tyson Hardin. The Mississippi State grad was promoted earlier on Wednesday from High-A Wisconsin and started his debut with two strikeouts in the first, Smokies getting one across the plate. Shuckers with one hit in the bottom but that’s all. Hardin goes back to work and keeps striking people out holding the Smokies at one. You’ll want to grab some popcorn for this bottom half.

Zavier Warren rips one up the middle for an easy single, and on his high horse is Luis Lara advancing from first to third on this hit. Just 90 feet away, Lara is home free after a passed ball. Biloxi ties it at one. The Shuckers get one more on the pond, Bladimir Restitiyo absolutely launches this one deep into left and that thing is out of here! It’s a three-run homerun and the Biloxi Shuckers take the lead 4-1 after two complete innings.

The high fives and celebrations would continue all night long as the Shuckers finally did it! The Biloxi Shuckers have claimed the South Division Title with a final score of 6-2! This has not been accomplished since 2019, and what a first win to get by the newbie, Tyson Hardin! Congratulations again to the Biloxi Shuckers!
