Law relating to seafood labeling goes into effect July 1 in Mississippi

GULF COAST, Miss. (WXXV)- Beginning July 1, all seafood and crawfish sold in Mississippi, whether in grocery stores, seafood markets, restaurants, or food truck, must be clearly labeled as either imported or domestic.

Oversight and enforcement of the new labeling requirements will be jointly managed by the Mississippi Department of Marine Resources and the Mississippi Department of Agriculture and Commerce.

DMR Executive Director General Joe Spraggins is here to tell us about the new law.
