Wildcat Baseball breaks Pearl River program record of Five All-America selections

What a historic day it was for the Pearl River Community College baseball team, as they set a new program record of five athletes being tabbed with All-America honors. With a 53-win season and a pair of titles to go along with it, this honestly comes as no surprise, but boy is this difficult to accomplish!

Starting off with the highest honor and the best arm, the ace of the program KK Clark is a First Team All-America. Through 88 innings of work, Clark possessed a 1.84 ERA, with 116 strikeouts and a 12-2 record. Congratulations to KK Clark!

Next is the captain of the club and heart of the team, first baseman Caston Thompson is a Second Team All-America! Thompson’s batting average of .370 was the Wildcat high. He also had 78 hits, 68 RBI’s and 31 extra base hits. Congratulations to Caston Thompson!

Joining him on the Second Team in the Wildcat stonewall and clutch hitter Jacob Keys! Keys was .333 at the plate with 73 runs scored. He also had a perfect fielding percentage as the Pearl River Catcher. Congratulations to Jacob Keys!

Also earning All-America honors for the Third Team is tough as nails Topher Jones! The third baseman led the Wildcats with 72 RBI”s. He also hit .358 with 76 hits and a .608 slugging percentage. Congratulations to Topher Jones!

Last but certainly not least is our hometown kid with a ton of fire. Pearl River Central’s very own Jacob Johnson is an Honorable Mention All-America. Johnson possessed a 2.28 ERA through 71 innings. During that time he also had 70 strikeouts with a 12-1 record. Congratulations to the former Blue Devil, Jacob Johnson, and congratulations to all five Wildcats on All-America honors.
