Four local coaches named MAC Coach of the Year! Congratulations to Poplarville’s Jay Beech, Gulfport’s Logan Fallo, Bay High’s Chris Doxey, and Our Lady Academy’s Emily Corley!

What an incredible day it is to be a coach on the Mississippi Gulf Coast! The Mississippi association of Coaches announced their 2025 Coaches of the Year, and four coaches in the southern six counties were chosen for the honor. Congratulations to Poplarville’s Jay Beech, Gulfport’s Logan Fallo, Bay High’s Chris Doxey, and Our Lady Academy’s Emily Corley!

Starting off with Poplarville’s head football coach, Jay Beech! Beech was named the Football Coach of the Year. This season, Coach Beech led the Hornets to their first ever State Championship title! They possessed an overall record of 13-2, ending their 2024 season with a five game winning streak. Congratulations to Coach Jay Beech!

Over in Gulfport, Logan Fallo has been named the Boys Powerlifting Coach of the Year!

This season, the Admirals won their fourth state title in a row, which is also their seventh State Championship in just eight years. Fallo was also instrumental in helping the Lady Admirals achieve their first State Championship this year as well. Congratulations to Coach Logan Fallo!

Headed to the pitch now, the Boys Soccer Coach of the Year is Bay High’s Chris Doxey! Doxey has led the Tiger soccer team to a school record of three State Championships in a row! They were undefeated in district play and had an overall record of 15-3. Congratulations to Coach Chris Doxey!

Last but certainly not least, the Volleyball Coach of the Year goes to Our Lady Academy’s Emily Corley! This year, the Lady Crescents   won their third volleyball State Championship in a row. During the 2024 season, OLA was undefeated in district play with an overall record of 41-4. Congratulations to Coach Emily Corley.

The ceremony recognizing these outstanding coaches will take place on Thursday, July 10th at the Sheraton Refuge in Flowood.  Congratulations to all four coaches for earning this prestigious honor!
