Lt. Gov. Hosemann holds legislative session in Gulfport
GULFPORT, Miss. (WXXV) – Earlier today, Lieutenant Governor Delbert Hosemann held a legislative session in Gulfport, meeting with the Board of Supervisors and several constables.
Discussions covered a range of topics, including the state’s overall health, efforts to reduce state debt, infrastructure improvements, and improving education in Mississippi.
A key issue raised during the session was how the state handles individuals with mental health challenges who are arrested. Lt. Gov. Hosemann emphasized the need for statewide solutions that prioritize treatment over incarceration.
On a more positive note, Hosemann reported that Mississippi is currently in the strongest financial position in its history, having paid off $2 billion in debt.
