The River keeps rising to the next level as PRCC Baseball signs 16 athletes to the next level!
Less than two weeks ago, the Pearl River baseball team ended an unforgettable 2025 season that included 53 wins, back-to-back MACCC titles, the Region 23 Championship title, and coming back to “The River” as runners up in the National Championship.
Although this historic chapter is coming to an end for this extraordinary group, their careers on the diamond are far from over.
Pearl River baseball announced that 16 members of the 2025 team are headed to the next level! Members of the Wildcat team headed to four-year programs are Camden Clark, KK Clark, Caleb Dyess, Carson Fair, Keegan Giger, Konner Graham, AJ Hansen, Jacob Johnson, Jacob Keys, Peyton lacy, Jaxon Milam, Max Miller, Patrick Spencer, Logan Terry, Caston Thompson, and Dylan Wallace!
Before the post season began in Poplarville, I had the honor of asking Head Coach Michael Avalon and two local players what it meant to be a part of this consistent, next level pipeline.
“We want all of our guys to use this place as a stepping stone to the next level and as a coach, that’s our responsibility to help them. They’re the ones that do the work and the ones that produce. Our job is to help them, encourage them, push them to get the best out of them, discipline them along the way and make sure they’re continuing to grow and develop and mature,” said Coach Michael Avalon. “We understand our job is much bigger than just winning baseball games. It’s to help them with their careers and that they become fine young men and the next step is playing at the four-year level.”
“That’s the big Pearl River thing,” said left-handed pitcher and Vancleave alum Max Miller. “You play the good schools, and then you end up going to the good schools. This is the best juco around, and like you said, it’s a pipeline to the next level here. You win so much that you start to get looked at, so it helps a lot being in this program and being around these good players.”
“They’ve been amazing for me,” said right-handed pitcher and Pearl River Central alum Jacob Johnson. “They contact other schools, they contacted Auburn for me, and they just do a lot for us here and it’s just awesome.”
