Youth choir cleans up Deer Island
Deer Island saw a group come out for a cleanup.
The Marietta First United Methodist Church Youth Choir out of Georgia hosting the event. Twenty-eight volunteers came out, picking up a total of 163 pounds of debris.
Not only did they help keep the island clean, the efforts also contributed valuable data for the Mississippi Coastal Cleanup program.
The program wanted to share that if you want to host your own cleanup, you can. A bin can be requested by going to their website.
