Cable Bridge Road Closed

Cable Bridge Road in Pass Christian is closed to thru traffic for the immediate future. Flood waters have covered the road’s surface.
Harrison County Sheriff’s Department has set up two road blocks on each side of the flooded area and have blocked the bridge with loads of sand. Once the waters have lowered to a safe level for driving, the sand will be cleared.
Residents from the area are preparing for waters to continue to rise overnight. Resident Diane Ber said, “Well my reaction is how am I going to get to work in the morning? There’s only two ways to get to work and this is one of the streets or I can go down Menge. Menge is the first road that usually closes before this one closes.”
With runoff flood water expected to add to rising water levels, Harrison County Sheriff’s deputies expect that the road may not open to thru traffic until sometime tomorrow evening.
