Mississippi Power finalizing storm plans ahead of Hurricane Season

GULF COAST, Miss. (WXXV)- Mississippi Power’s storm directors met this week to finalize their 2025 Atlantic Hurricane Season storm plans.

The meeting took place at Mississippi Power’s Operations Center in Lyman where company leaders from across the service area gathered.

This meeting was to ensure everyone is on the same page and in a strong position to respond for this season if the need arises.

Officials also said they have made efforts to change out wood poles to concrete as well as improving their smart devices ahead of the season.

The 2025 Hurricane Season begins on June 1.
