Lockdown lifted at Keesler Air Force Base

KEESLER AIR FORCE BASE, Miss. –Keesler Air Force Base has issued the all clear after the base was put on lockdown early Wednesday morning.

There is no threat to the installation and all areas of resumed normal operations.

According to 81st Training Wing officials at Keesler Air Force Base, after extensive security operations, no indications of an active shooter or active threat to Keesler AFB have been discovered.

Biloxi PD officers were also on scene earlier assisting and found no evidence of an active shooter. They have since left the scene.

The base was put into lockdown around 8 a.m. Wednesday morning due to reports of a potential threat on the installation.

This incident was not connected to the previously scheduled readiness exercise.
