The 2025 Seabee Golf Invitational in Diamondhead
Diamondhead, Miss. (WXXV)- It was a beautiful day at the Club of Diamondhead, the kickoff site of 2025 Seabee golf invitational. It marks the kickoff of the first of four invitationals planned this season. A total of 80 Seabee golfers were treated to free day at the links.
Marketing & Development Coordinator, Heather Deviney, says “it’s a best ball tournament, they just come out for a good time. We have a lot of active-duty Seabees that play, we get sponsors that pay for their spots so they’re not actually paying to play. They just come out and have a good time.”
Seabees competed for a variety of prizes, but the real winner was the navy Seabee Foundation. Which benefits from all funds raised during the tournament. Organizers say the strong turnout and generous support highlights the commitment to honoring and supporting the Seabees and their families.
Deviney says, “this benefits the Navy Seabee Foundation. We serve Seabees. We’ve been around since the early 70s. We do scholarships for the children and grandchildren of Seabees. We raise money, we have a big museum in Port of Hueneme, California. We have a heritage center here on the base in Gulfport. And we just support Seabees in and out of uniform and their families through scholarship, education, and heritage.”
With three more events on the horizon, the momentum is just getting started. If you want to learn more about the navy Seabee foundation, head over to www.seabee.org.
