AG Fitch files temporary restraining order against pharmacy chains

JACKSON, Miss. (WXXV)- Mississippi Attorney General Lynn Fitch has filed a temporary restraining order against major pharmaceutical companies, a move she says is designed to protect the Magnolia State’s independent pharmacies.

The order was filed in Harrison County Chancery Court this week against Good RX, CVS, and Inside RX.

The restraining order for the time being stops these pharmacies from taking discount card program reimbursements involuntarily which is in violation of Mississippi State code.

In a statement, AG Fitch says in part “that Mississippi’s independent pharmacies have been forced to take artificially low reimbursements because of the practices of the large chains.”

Fitch went on to say she will continue to fight back on this issue moving forward.
