Traffic stop in Picayune leads to discovery of 50 pounds of marijuana

Picayune, Miss. (WXXV)-A traffic stop in Picayune caused officers to discover 50 pounds of marijuana.

Officers conducted a traffic stop on I-59 Tuesday – the driver Aaron Steele fleeing.

Steele lost control of his car and wrecked into a wooden fence. He ran on foot with officers capturing him.

When officers returned to the car, 50 pounds of marijuana were found in the trunk.

Steele was charged with traffic violations, felony fleeing, and trafficking of a controlled substance.
