Long Beach Police take woman into custody for child neglect

Long Beach, Miss. (WXXV)- On April 17th, 2025, a Long Beach Police Department Investigator conducted a traffic stop in the vicinity of Pineville Road and West Old Pass Road, identifying the female driver as Kathryn L. Robbins.

While investigating the traffic offense, it was discovered that Robbins had left a 3-month-old child at her residence unattended. Officers with the Long Beach Police Department responded to the residence and located the unattended child inside.

The child was assessed by medical personnel and transported to Memorial Hospital for a wellness check. Robbins was taken into custody, charged with reckless driving, driving on a suspended license, possession of drug paraphernalia and a felony count of child neglect. CPS released the child to extended family after investigating the situation.
