Autopsy for Gracelyn Vick of Saucier scheduled for today
SAUCIER, Miss. (WXXV) – The search for 6-year-old Gracelyn Vick began Sunday afternoon after her family reported her missing shortly after she went outside to play around noon. Harrison County deputies responded to the area of F. Taylor and Saucier Fairley roads in Saucier, Mississippi, to begin the search.
With the help of Gulf Coast Search and Rescue, other local law enforcement agencies, and several neighbors in the area, the search intensified throughout the day.
Harrison County Sheriff Matt Haley said the search came to a tragic end when Gracelyn’s body was found around 6 p.m. near her home. She was pronounced dead at the scene.
An autopsy happened Monday at the state crime lab in Biloxi and is expected to provide more information about what led to Gracelynn’s death.
Details remain limited as the investigation is still ongoing, and the Harrison County Coroner’s office is working with the sheriff’s office when it comes to analyzing the autopsy’s results.
