National Park Week kicks off on Saturday

Gulf Coast (WXXV)- The National Park Service is celebrating National Park Week starting Saturday.

The fun is kicking off at the Davis Bayou Visitor Center and Ship Island.

Starting out is a sunrise paddle running from 6 to 7:30 Saturday morning.

Reservations are required, call 228-230-4100 to reserve your spot.

Throughout the day at the Davis Bayou Visitor Center, visitors can design a badge and hike through the park.

The badge design runs from 9 AM to 4 PM while the hike starts at 1 PM.

Over at Ship Island, a discussion about Fort Massachusetts takes place at 10:15 AM and then again at 1:15 PM.
