Star Class Championship begins at Pass Christian Yacht Club
PASS CHRISTIAN, Miss. (WXXV)- The action ramps up over at the Pass Christian Yacht Club for a sailing championship happening throughout the week in the waters of the Mississippi Sound.
The yacht club is playing host to Olympic athletes as they compete for gold in the Star Class National Championship.
These championship races have taken place all across North America and this year the Mississippi Coast was chosen as the host.
Sailors gathered Tuesday for practice and check-ins. Now, on Wednesday, the competition really gets underway.
Two races are set to take place each day for the rest of the week with the champion being crowned on Saturday, April 12th.
