City Breaking Ground On New Garden
Today is earth day and the City Of Gulfport is celebrating by adding a new garden to beautify a part of the city.
This morning the city will have a dedication ceremony then break ground on a new community garden.
The new garden will be located near the corner of 34th Street and 8th Avenue.
The city had this over 30 acres of land donated to them from FEMA after hurricane Katrina.
The education, economics, environmental, climate and health organization, in partnership with the city of Gulfport, will be holding the groundbreaking at 10 am.
The community garden will take up about 2 acres with plans to expand that to four.
But city developers have even more planned for the area.
