Secretary of the Coast Guard Act of 2025
JACKSON, Miss. (WXXV)- Congressman Mike Ezell has introduced the Secretary of the Coast Guard Act of 2025.
If passed and signed into law, the piece of legislation would provide the Coast Guard with a dedicated civilian leader.
Adding another layer of civilian leadership would help ensure the Coast Guard receives the resources and the support necessary to continue important national security missions.
Under this act, the Coast Guard structure will mirror the framework of the Department of Defense.
In a statement released by Congressman Ezell, he said that the U.S. Coast Guard plays an important role in the nation’s security.
He then went on to say that the Coast Guard should earn similar recognition that other military branches receive.
